And dance

We went to one of the performances of Holland dance festival last night. It was a three part program. The first one was interesting, I enjoyed the second part and I tried so hard controlling myself from laughing out loud at some points of the last part. Fell free to think that I don't understand art at some level ;). We have one more program to go.

Norouz

And when you repeat "Norouz" twice when you're talking about your new year, that's a reminder telling you're out of Norouz's birthplace for the second time but you still can smell it, you know it's not because of the spring like weather in here which helps you to feel so, it was in Libya last year and the weather was not helping and still you could feel Norouz... It's you and it'll always be.

Happy Spring, Happy new year every body! :)

These Interesting People

People are like a collection of stamps, with different shapes, colors, ages and stories they are similar though, since they all are stamps. If we get the chance we may hear their stories or a part of them some day, we may like the whole tales or only a very short part of them and if we're lucky enough to come across nice stories, have good ears and fine memories after some years we may have a collection and it's very possible that this time we call them life-time lessons.
At the third course that I had almost 2 months ago there was one new student who was also going to teach us only for one and half hours of the first session. He used to sit right next to me, listened to the lectures so eagerly and asked questions once he did not understand and he was in his 70s. He studied Medicine when he was young and changed his major to philosophy and is one of the respectful professors of the university and author of some academical books. At the first session he lectured on Neuro-philosophy and then became a student for the rest of the term since there was little discovered in Neuroscience related subjects at the time he was studying Medicine as he said. I was amazed at his humble, modest and enthusiastic spirit and I could not think of any teacher any similar to him through the entire years of my studies.
And in the last two terms, there are two other new students that I see, one is a Ph.D. student of economy and the other is the professor of economy faculty and the tutor of this student. They're trying to define a proposal in economy and in relation with Neuroscience and neural network and for that they need to have some knowledge of nervous system of the body so they attend these classes and both listen and take part in all class activities and also sit for the exams.

I respect these people, no matter how great their places, their titles and their careers are they always remain students.

Celeberation

Celebration is delightful whatever reason would bring shiny lights into the streets, colorful products to the stores and typical annual items into people's houses, is nice and reminds you that holiday is just around the corner.
Christmas is coming soon and I feel it strongly as the door of our apartment opens to a big beautiful decorated Christmas tree whenever I want to go out. In Tehran some shop windows on some streets specially in "Villa" and "Mirzaie shirazi" streets with their Christmas related items brought the atmosphere of celebration as I was passing by and now its sensation spreads every where. I enjoy the spirit of people who gather to celebrate together, whatever reason that brings joy and eagerness into their hearts, whether it's Nowruz in Spring or the birth of someone special according to some people in thousands years ago in winter... It's about excitement and joy and it's warm even though the weather tells you otherwise.

Wind of Change

...Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

The wind of change blows straight
Into the face of time...

A one-year- old baby

Yesterday, this place got 1 year old. It was almost 2 months after our arrival to Libya that I started this blog. I made this room for some reasons and now I still keep coming to this place but not exactly for the same reasons, well sometimes for no specific reason I would say... I don't know for how long I would carry on with writing what comes across my mind "in here" but I'm certainly glad that I've done this so far :).
Thanks to my "not very much in number" readers.

To him who inspired me to start this blog in the first place.

Happy New year!

I look at this year that we're leaving behind tomorrow morning and I can say:

-Our home was filled with love, laughter and understanding,
-My mind tried as much as it could afford to know me better,
-I had different experiences, took new steps that I'll never forget,
-Every one that I love is alive and I hope is happy.

I wish when 1388 comes, I look back at 1387 and say:

-Our home was filled with love, laughter and understanding,
-Our days were cherished with great desires and little but endless fulfillments,
-My heart perfectly tried to be open to others' hearts and had the courage to be open to those that closed theirs to mine,
-Every one that I love and I know is happy and alive,
-The world is walking towards peace.

Happy Nowruz, Happy Spring, Happy 1387 you all

Chocolate story

I remember when I was little among all the junk food that a kid usually likes, I liked "kit kat" the most. I had a little beautiful box which was from my sister's childhood. I would put some nuts and on top of them a bunch of kit kat bars and I thought of them as a precious storage and would carry them to my father's garden in weekends. During the war time, it was not possible to find the kit kat anymore. After a while, a factory called "Minoo" started to make a chocolate bar named "Tak Tak" as a replacement of kit kat . I liked that too but not as much as the kit kat and gradually I forgot the taste of it and became loyal to Tak Tak for many years after. I'm not really the fan of sweet flavors but these brown charming finger bars always stayed as my exceptional favorite.
I don't remember from when I felt no more interest in Tak Tak or even Kit Kat- which has been available every where recent years in Iran by the way. I discovered another kind of chocolate maybe 4 years ago and since then I've just worshiped : Lindt DARK chocolate. When we lived in Iran every time that we went abroad, these golden bars were among the stuff we brought home. Every time Mr.Behi went out of Iran alone, he used to buy a bunch of them. As soon as seeing these golden bars coming out from his suitcase, my eyes were shining and my day was there to be made and my body was to receive the whole of them over a short period of time...
In fact, we knew some shops in Tehran that had all the different swiss chocolates including this thing that I loved but they were ridiculously overpriced... Well, when we were in Tehran, every time that we wanted to party we would go to one specific restaurant called "Honey" and my husband just admired its "chicken kebab" and another party would be going to an ice cream store called again "Honey" for having an ice cream with the chocolate or caffeine flavor which I really liked. Going to these "Honeys" which were not related to each other-by the way- for us was like having a big celebration in honor of an ordinary day during a week.
Any way, now here in Tripoli, many supermarkets have this kind of chocolate with its real price somehow. But to tell the truth, after finding some pimples on my forehead- which was a thing that I didn't see even during my teenage years except on my nose!- I figured out this is the time to admire less this charming dark brown thing :).
Now I buy and eat it much more slowly but I'll always remember it as a beautiful thing which is better to be overpriced... May its soul rest in peace ;).
