Invisible!

I go to them, we talk, we even laugh and I know the next morning they might not feel like saying hi again. And this repeats itself for more than a year. It's not easy to not looking for a correlation between being an Iranian and not being visible enough to some people.

Sometimes, it is the cultural differences. Please keep this in mind and don't take it personal.

I know what you mean. I had the same feeling for quite some times back in my office . Most of the time the longest conversation I had was
Hi, How are? nice day
People were nice and everything but to connect you have to make an effort. You have to stop being shy and socialize...Get involve in events..parties...

Dasiy jan, that's true and I know what you mean but my post is more on those who don't treat only based on cultural matters and well to be fair they've been very few around me but at some point it gets kind of hard not to think or blog about them.

Hivaie, to be honest I prefer to make an effort on those of conversations or social interactions that both sides show an interest. Remember our talks on how some relationships are just energy-consuming that make you wonder what's the point of having them? I just came to this conclusion that it doesn't matter what nationality you're talking about, when you don't click you don't click, as simple as it sounds and that could happen for any real or superficial reasons.

Behi jan,
I completely agree with you. I had my share of meeting those types of people too. I know it could be very hard but don't be too hard on yourself. You can't change the way some people think. Finding good friends (or even people) takes time and patience.
It always helps to get it out too. so write about it as much as you want :)

Behi jan,
I know what you mean. I have had several lab-mates or colleagues in these past years that would treat me like this. Some, I think was due to me being Iranian(or in general just "foreigners" to them). the other cause may be related to the fact that they may not be social people at all. It hurts to see them almost every day and have to work with them.

Roshanake aziz, I'm not looking for having a close friendship with some one in my office since we all are so busy with our works that no one feels time passes during the day but it just seemed so weird when I noticed these people have difficulty for saying a simple word and I'm talking about words like "hi" after seeing each other for more than a year and let's leave alone having a very simple primitive conversation with them...I actually have this experience with two people to be precise among the ones who are just the opposite and nice...You're right, I think I got a little bit sensitive since they're my lab-mates.
