Just Like That!

-On our travel to the UK I used to go to a library almost every day. The library was 10 minuets walk from the hotel that we were staying at that time. I usually stayed there for one and half-hours and I would surf through the different books and connect to the Internet and then would go back to the hotel. I remember once when I was sitting behind a computer desk, a lady right next to me was working with her computer turned to me and asked if I knew the correct spelling of "queue"? Then she said she was kind of mixed up while she was laughing. I immediately told her: "q-u-e-u… No, I think q-e-u-e, hmmm… I’m sorry, I’m not really sure". She told me it was not that important and that was okay. I had 6-8 minuets left for my connection to be time out. What I did was trying to remember the right spelling by writing down the word several times and then I googled it. I found its right spelling, looked at the lady that had asked for, before saying anything to her I started to think for a minute and felt that if after this gap I tell her what I was going to, she might think I was some kind of weirdo as I already was feeling so about myself!

-It was during the time that I used to go to my English class in Iran and the only place that I had this chance to speak in English was that class and with my teacher and other classmates. I hadn’t had the experience of talking in English to somebody who was not, in fact, a Farsi-speaker. Once I went to the office that my husband worked there, he introduced me to one of his colleagues who came from a Latin-American country. My husband had mentioned of this person once before and had told me that guy was a nice man. Anyway, shortly after that Mr.Behi left us to talk to someone who had a question for him for a few minuets. During this time, I looked at this person while was thinking what would be best to say to break this silence, as he seemed kind of shy and quiet. I thought for a second and came out with this: "Mr.B always tells me about your good behavior"!

You could continue like this "if you continue showing this good behavior I am gonna by you a candy googool " :) :))

Your second story made me laugh. Embarassing memories!______Queue is actually a French word. I believe the first queues were at the ticket box at the Paris Opera.

Good to know the origin of this word, thanks.
